Born in Los Angeles, California on December 16, 1911, Brett Weston, the son of photographer Edward Weston, was employed by the WPA in the 1930s. He won a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1947. He had homes in Carmel Valley, California and Kona, Hawaii until his demise in the latter on January 22, 1993.
